Hollywood debuts

Hi guys! I've attended several debuts now and I'd like to share some my Hollywood-themed debuts I've been to. One problem about special occasions is what dress are you going to wear, who's going to do your hair and make-up, what are you going to give to the debutante, what are you going to say, etc. Lucky for me, I have a fashionista cousin who always helps me in times of fashion and make-up crisis.

Okay, let's take a look at Chin's debut last year held at Citystate Tower Hotel. I really don't have that much time to prepare and I still don't have the 'perfect' dress. Lucky for me, my cousin let me borrow her dress and I paired it with my new gold pumps to give that simple but dashing look.

The high school friends. Chin looks amazing, doesn't she?

My date for that night loljk! Haha!

And last November was also my friend, Kristine's birthday. Lucky for me, I was able to come home for her birthday since her debut's venue is in Ozamiz. Basically, her theme was also Hollywood too so I was kind of having that panic attack again on what to wear and since I don't have that much of formal/semi-formal dresses, I have no choice but to look for a simple, catchy yet affordable dress. So here's what I wore that night.

Here goes my favorite gold pumps again

I even won as 'Female of the Night' which was actually kind of funny. Hahaha! And look, I even have that cute little Oscar award. :)
With the one and only, Carla Monique-- the girl who did my make-up and I absolutely love it! Want to book her? You can check her Facebook and Twitter! :)

Us with the debutante, herself. Doesn't she look stunning?

It's not about the dress, the shoes or the gifts, it's basically about the memories and the tons of fun you had during the night. It's okay to dress up a little (well, maybe not a little) as long as it's for a good cause. I hope this post will help you get an idea on what to wear on your next party/debut. :)

Singer inside

This term, I'm taking up Sound Design classes as part of my major subjects. So far, it's been really fun and amazing to record stuffs and edit your own commercials, sounds, etc. Everytime I attend my SONDESN class, I always have that inside feeling of becoming a recording star. Hahaha! Here are some photos of me assuming to be a recording  popstar. Haha!

Here's JP fooling around as usual

How's your classes this term/semester so far? Have a great Saturday! X

Etheline's 18th

This is a late post again but as you all know (Facebook friends), it was Etheline's debut last Saturday. Eths and I have been talking about her debut since last term and finally, the day has come--for her to unfold a new chapter of her life which as adulthood. Etheline's been one of my closest friends in college and I'm happy for her for what an amazing woman she is now.

Basically, there was no specific theme but we were just required to wear something  strictly formal. So together with my girls: Haya, Hazel, Mixi and Mells, they all went to my place and my every-beautiful and sweet cousin Fiona did all our make-up. We all looked amazing and gorgeous and the boys also looked dashing and very manly with their suits and all. It took too long for us to prepare that sadly we weren't able to witness the first part like Eth's grand entrance and all and even worse, when we got there, turns out that the 18 roses part was already starting and that they were only waiting for JP, Keith, Manjean, DJ and Jasper! So the boys hurriedly got off the van and went straight to the ballroom area. Funny thing, we went inside to the wrong place--Maxims which was just near Marriott but we have to walk with our heels to go to the ballroom area. But finally--we arrived at the very beautiful arranged setting of the area filled with beautiful people (including us haha!), Etheline's favorite things such as turtle, her drawings and of course, the very beautiful debutante herself.

After the dinner, the organizer told us to change and prepare for our special dance presentation with Eths. Man, it was really embarrassing especially when we forgot our parts. Ughh, so glad it's done already! Haha!

Then came the dancing and disco...

Graphika Manila 2013

I know this is a very very late post but I know I can't miss to blog everything about what happened to my first every Graphika Manila!

So my friends and I arrived at the PICC about 9:30 already (and btw, we were supposed to meet at our friend's condo at exactly 8:00 but I was an hour late! Hehehehe) When we got there, the line was very long nd we waited for like an hour and a half before we can go inside the venue. So when we got there, the program started late. It's supposed to start 10:00 am but it started past 11:00 already.

In the morning session, there were three speakers James White from Signalnoise, The Devil Robots and our very own, Armand Serrano who is an alumnus from UST and is currently working in Sony Pictures Animation. The speakers were really informative yet funny. Screw long and boring talks--in fact, they were very nice, friendly and entertaining! I really think James White is really funny and somehow, cute! Hahaha! The Devil Robots were also hilarious! They even gave some of us some to-fu souvenirs which was really cute! Armand Serrano, on the other hand was not kind of serious but he truly is inspiring. It just proves to me that Filipino talent it also world-class.

So lunch break started around 1:00 pm and every delegate was already starving! So a swarm of GM delegated came over the Harbour Square because it was the nearest place where there are food chains and stuff in the PICC (aside from Star City). Funny thing is that all restaurant and fast foods were already full so my friends and I were really pissed and we were desperate to eat something. (And fyi, I haven't eaten my breakfast yet so you can really feel the pain that my I'm feeling that day) Okay, so much for that. Finally...my friends and I decided to go on separate ways (chos) because we were starting to lose our patient and even one of us suggested that we will have our lunch in Starbucks since it's the only one who doesn't have a lot of customers inside but I said to myself, "No, I have to eat something. I have to eat rice." So JP, Jason and I found ourselves ordering siomai, chicken feet and hakao from Hap Chan. And I have to tell you, it's the worst lunch that I have! Though, I'm thankful that we were able to eat something but after that, I felt that I haven't eaten anything! The service was just too unsatisfactory! After that, since we were not really full, we decided to buy donuts from Krispy Kreme and man, I have to say, it was the most delicious thing that I have eaten that day!

So when we went back to PICC, the other speakers were there already such as Benjamin Seide from Pixomondo who created the visual effects for Game Of Thrones (HOW COOL IS THAT!); Benja Harney, a paper engineer; Ryan Honey from BUCK and my favorite and the only female in the group, Jessica Walsh. They were all amazing and inspiring! Someday (and I hope eventually sooner) I would be as good as them and even work in firms and big companies such as those! Anyway, I really love Jessica Walsh! I really find her funny yet smart and after the event, I was actually fangirl-ing like constantly tweeting her and sending her of our pictures and she even replied and mentioned my name which was really sweet!

I had a blast on my first Graphika Manila experience not only because I was with my friends but because I learned a lot. Can't wait for next year! :)

With Jessica Walsh! <3

Devil Robots and Jessica Walsh signed my Graphika Manila mini-book! (*screaming)

What's New?

It's currently my third term of my sophomore year in college now and so far, I'm enjoying every second of it. I currently have 5 major subjects this term and man, it's pretty challenging especially for my Photography class. I love taking pictures and stuff but somehow, I really dont "feel" this Photography class. I mean, it's so hard especially you have to take multiple of shots to get the best one. I really want to improve on my Photography skills especially that I feel I won't get good grades as much as the other subjects but I know I can do better--I just have to try even harder. Anyway, here are some of my almost-wonderful plates of my Photography class.

P.S. These are raw/unedited photos since we are not allowed to post-process them--yet.
